Golden Glow (Beauty and Skin)
Give Your Skin a Boost
Unless you live in the sunny south, getting that all-over warm golden glow can be tough. Thankfully for those of us in the northern, less sunny climates, we have a Canadian blended concoction of spices, fruits and vegetables to give your sun-starved skin the boost it needs.
Ginger: is thought to protect against aging and to help improve the elasticity of the skin.
Turmeric: is said to possess anti-inflammatory qualities that calm our over protective pores.
Carrots: are packed with beta-carotene, which is an anti-oxidant that repairs skin tissues.
Beets: high in folate, are said to stimulate the repair of skin cells.
Ginger, turmeric root, carrot and beet and pineapple pieces, calendula petals and natural flavours.
Hot Tea: use 1 slightly heaping tsp of loose tea for every 7-9 oz of water. Steep for 3 to 7 minutes.
Cold Tea: use 13 slightly heaping tsps of loose tea into a teapot. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep 5 minutes. Quarter fill a server pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into the serving pitcher, straining the tea. Add ice and top up with cold water. Garish with lemon, lime or pineapple.
